Surveys
When purchasing a property, you will need a survey to be carried out for both your peace of mind and your mortgage provider.
There are generally 3 types of surveys, and the one you will need will depend on the age and condition of the property. The majority of buyers opt for a Home Buyers/Condition Report, although a full Building Survey is recommended for older properties and is often stipulated by mortgage lenders.
- Home Survey
- Home Buyer/Condition Report (plus valuation if required)
- Building Survey(plus valuation if required)
A more extensive survey is recommended for more dilapidated properties, and a specialist survey is required for buy-to-let properties.
A fully accredited Chartered Surveyor must always carry out surveys, and we can recommend one local to you.
